Price Family Women’s Circle Celebrates International Women’s Day
On March 8th, the Price Family Women’s Circle hosted an event in celebration of International Women’s Day, where community and automotive industry leaders gathered to recognize the achievements of women in the workforce. The Women’s Circle is an employee-driven organization within Price Family Dealerships that aims to educate and inspire personal development through mentorship, discussion, and experiences.
The event featured a panel discussion with three prominent women in the automotive industry: Kerri Wise, CMO at AutoFi and President of WOCAN; Amber Alley, GM at Barsotti’s Body and Fender; and Ashlyn Murray, VP of Client Experience at Foundation Direct. They spoke about numerous topics related to the challenges and opportunities for women in the industry, and had the audience engaged throughout.
One of the main topics discussed was the importance of women in the automotive industry. Historically, this has been a male-dominated field, but there has been a shift towards greater diversity and inclusion in recent years. Women bring unique perspectives and skillsets to the industry, and are capable of making significant contributions to its growth and success.
According to a report by the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA), women make up only 27% of the automotive industry workforce (18% at dealerships), despite representing more than half of all car buyers. This presents a significant opportunity for the industry to tap into a largely untapped pool of talent and increase diversity in its ranks.
Furthermore, studies have shown that companies with greater gender diversity tend to perform better financially. This is because diverse teams are better equipped to understand and meet the needs of diverse customer bases, and are more innovative and creative in their problem-solving.
The Women’s Circle at Price Family Dealerships recognizes the importance of diversity and inclusion, and aims to promote the professional development of women in the industry. Through mentorship, discussion, and experiences, the Women’s Circle helps women to develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in their careers.
The event also featured a workshop from Jenna Lange, CEO and Founder of Lange International, on the topic of personal branding. This is a critical skill for anyone looking to advance their career, as it involves establishing a strong and authentic professional identity that sets you apart from others.
The success of the event would not have been possible without the support of the Women’s Circle leadership team and sponsors, including AutoHub, CarGurus, Chase, Stargard, Toyota, Volvo, Auto Trader, Bank of America, Bitesize, E Block, Marin Luxury Cars, Giving Marin, The Marin Independent Journal, CalTex, Cars.com, Dealer Tire, Eye of Pizza, Designer Blooms, Joanne’s Print Shop, and Vida Dulce Treats! Big thanks to our leadership team that includes Volvo Cars Marin GM, Diana Kennedy; Volvo Cars Palo Alto GM, Savannah Simms; and marketing manager Paige Ziegler – they are the BEST!
